About a year or two ago, I noticed two dominoes smashed into the pavement at Hampton and West Park. Not much attention was paid, beyond thinking, "I guess someone is short 2 dominoes. What a jerk." Then a couple of months ago, I noticed another set, at a different intersection. Then another set. Then another set. Then some friends told me about some they had seen.
What it boils down to is that there are way too many of these "pavement dominoes" all around the city (of St. Louis, Missouri) for it to be some random occurrence. Someone is placing each one in its respective spot, and I believe there has to be a reason or purpose behind it. I have started photographing each one, and noting it's location and respective numbers, shown on this blog.
I've made this blog as simply as a way to put all the info in one place. This is a work in progress - I'm positive that I haven't found them all, so as they are discovered, they'll be added. If you have a theory, post it somewhere.
For the record, I am not responsible for any of these - I'm just recording them. And I should also stress that at this point, I don't know anything for sure about any of them, beyond what you see in the photos. What I do know is that I enjoy the mystery!
In the meantime, until the rest of this unravels, I may end up sharing some cool finds and things that I unearth around town, just for the hell of it.
